

Matin Ghayour Minaie
Psychologist
Matin Ghayour Minaie is a Provisional Psychologist with more than 30 years of experience as an overseas-trained Clinical Psychologist supporting individuals, couples, and families through life’s challenges.
Matin holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology and completed her PhD at Deakin University, with a focus on clinical and health psychology. Her doctoral research explored parenting challenges among migrant families and the development of collaborative interventions for adolescents experiencing behavioural difficulties, working closely with parents, schools, and broader communities.
Matin works with people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship difficulties, emotional regulation challenges, and adjustment issues. She has a special interest in supporting people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, including migrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and international students.
She takes a warm, compassionate, and holistic approach to therapy, recognising the importance of each person’s unique experiences, relationships, culture, and strengths. Using a trauma-informed and integrative style, Matin draws on evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, DBT, mindfulness, and person-centred therapies to tailor support to each client’s individual needs. Matin is passionate about creating a safe and collaborative space where clients feel heard, empowered, and supported to make meaningful changes and enhance their wellbeing.
