About Me

Hi there! I’m Taylor, an empathic psychologist based in sunny South East Queensland, where I live with my wonderful partner and our two energetic young children. I should also mention my pup, Winston. While he might not have an official therapy dog badge, he certainly has a knack for knowing when to pop into sessions to offer extra emotional support. When I’m not immersed in the world of psychology, you might catch me experimenting in the kitchen, embarking on ambitious (yet occasionally unfinished) crafting projects, engaging in spirited board game battles, or enjoying a bike ride around the neighbourhood.
As a psychologist, I truly believe in the uniqueness of each individual. My mission is to help you uncover what makes life rich, full, and meaningful for you. Think of me as your personal guide on a journey to cultivate your ideal life. Whether you’re grappling with depression, anxiety, parenting challenges, or major life adjustments, I’m here to support and empower you every step of the way.
I hold a special interest in a few key areas: depression, anxiety, parenting, perinatal mental health, and navigating major life transitions. One of my most cherished roles is as a certified Seasons of Matrescence educator and guide. Matrescence is like adolescence but with a motherly twist—it’s the profound transformation that happens when a woman becomes a mother. It’s an incredible journey that touches on mental health, physical changes, relationships, career shifts, and spiritual beliefs. I’m deeply passionate about supporting mothers through this transformative rite of passage, using the Seasons of Matrescence approach to help you navigate this powerful time with grace and insight.
Additionally, I am a certified Simplicity Parenting care professional. In this role, I delight in helping parents reconnect with their initial dreams and visions of family life. Life can get overwhelmingly busy and complicated, so my aim is to guide you towards simplifying your family life and reducing the stress that often accompanies our “too much, too soon” culture. By taking small, achievable steps, we’ll work together to create a calmer, more joyful family environment where you and your children can thrive. If you’re curious about how embracing simplicity can lead to a more fulfilling parenting experience, let’s explore this journey together!
So, if you’re open-minded, seeking a holistic approach, and can handle the occasional furry interlude from Winston, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s embark on this journey of growth and discovery together! Feel free to reach out; I’m here to support you in creating the life you envision.

Taylor Richards, Australian registered psychologist, BPsychSci (Hons), BCCJ, PGDipProfPsych

Taylor is experienced in various therapeutic approaches to support her clients through life’s challenges. She utilises Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), particularly in areas related to anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. Additionally, her experience with perinatal psychology, parenting, self-esteem, and life transitions allows her to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to her clients.

Taylor has a passion for all things creative—dance, drama, film, and music were her favourite subjects in school. One book that has been a game changer for her is “Simplicity Parenting” by Kim John Payne. For TV shows, Taylor enjoys watching “Ted Lasso” and “Jane the Virgin,” which provide a great mix of humour and heartfelt moments.

Taylor resides in sunny South East Queensland, juggling her roles as a wife, proud mum of two lively daughters, and pet-parent to Winston the pug, who loves to make surprise appearances during sessions. Outside of work, you will find Taylor playing with her kids, whipping up tasty treats, or kicking it old-school with some needlework. Basically, she is a “nanna” in disguise, and her crafty tendencies are here to prove it.
