Farzana Rita is an Australian registered Psychologist with a warm, empathic and client-centred approach to counselling. She is passionate about listening to her clients, helping them to discover their inner strength and empower them to overcome a difficult time in their life. She has experience working with a range of psychological issues, such as:
- Stress and anger management
- Anxiety disorders
- Relationship issues
- Work issues
Farzana has experience working with individuals of all ages in various settings. She has helped children and their families for a range of issues such as:
- disruptive behaviours
- anger management
- self-esteem issue
- social skill deficit
She is eclectic in her approach and uses elements of various therapeutic techniques including:
- Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
- Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and Mindfullness strategies
- Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)
- Family System Therapy
Farzana is a SIRA-approved psychologist, seeing clients under WorkCover, CTP and Medicare. Farzana is fluent in Bengali and understands Urdu and Hindi. She also has experience working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and offers culturally and religiously sensitive counselling.
Farzana is passionate about working in the field of positive psychology, interested in enhancing general wellbeing and utilising modern technology (such as telehealth and online therapy) to help people easily access mental health and wellbeing care from anywhere they want to access.
