AHPRA Psychology Supervisor Denise Hostin is a Registered Psychologist and accredited supervisor with AHPRA. Her qualifications include an undergraduate qualification in Psychology, a postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health and a Masters degree in Clinical leadership. Denise has 19 years of experience of direct clinical work. This includes private practice, not-for-profit companies and government agencies in Australia and Brazil. Denise has training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and as an AHPRA Psychology Supervisor. She is always interested in learning and implementing new evidence-based ways to help clients recover from difficulties and thrive in their lives. Her main client groups are adolescents (and their parents) as well as adults struggling with anxiety, depression and the consequences of trauma. Denise also works with other challenges that may require support such as relationship and work-related difficulties. Specifically Denise enjoys helping people to live life more fully and in line with their core values. For each person Denise will tailor her approach to be a good match for each and every one of her clients. As a native Portuguese speaker, Denise is fluent in both English and Portuguese. She also has firsthand knowledge of what it is like to emigrate and the challenges raised by this. Able to provide support for anyone having difficulties associated with moving to a new country, finding employment, overcoming language and cultural barriers. Denise has also been supporting and up-skilling psychologists and counsellors over the last 5 years as  a clinical supervisor- she is finding the close work with other professionals to be a rewarding exchange of knowledge and experiences that keep her stimulated to study and learn every day.
