Amy Redman

BA Hons (Psych), MA (Counselling Psychology) I am a registered Counselling Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) and I am registered as a Board Approved Supervisor. I completed my psychology training within community, educational, hospital and forensic settings working with adolescents and adults. I have extensive experience in delivering group therapy and individual therapy for forensic and community based clients. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults and have experience in the following areas;

  • PTSD and trauma (both recent and historic)
  • depression
  • anxiety
  • anger
  • substance abuse/dependence
  • eating disorders and body image
  • adjustment/life transitions including pregnancy and transition to parenthood
  • grief and loss
  • work related stress
I utilise a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) to assist clients to process and recover from distressing experiences. I seek to create a warm, compassionate and safe environment for all my clients. My therapeutic approach is client centred, where the client’s goals, interest and preferences guide the interventions that are used within treatment. I am passionate about working collaboratively with clients to identify and achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being and their experience of life’s many challenges.
