Although all of us to some degree have developed rituals and routines, such as our morning routines of washing, dressing and leaving the house. Some people find themselves locked into rigid or repetitive routines such as frequent hand washing, checking lights/ locked doors, and in fact there are many many more.

Firstly the problem begins with a worrying or obsessional thought, for example “I am not clean” this is often followed by the compulsive behaviour, for example handwashing, the behaviour brings some temporary relief but being locked in this cycle can cause symptoms to worsen and lead to high levels of self doubt, depression, anxiety and isolation.
