You may be eligible to access funding from Work and Income (WINZ) to contribute towards the cost of psychology sessions. For low income earners WINZ offers a health and disability allowance up to $61.38 per week. This would mean that fortnightly sessions would leave you out of pocket by just $16.
Alternatively the Unlimited Online Counselling service via secure messenger may also be the right option for you. This service is normally $74.75 and if you apply the WINZ rebate you may be entitled to claim $61.38 per week from WINZ leaving you with just $13 out of pocket expenses. Consider applying for the Disability Allowance if you:
- Have a disability that is likely to last at least six months ( including depression, anxieyt or other mental health concerns)
- Have regular, ongoing costs because of your disability which
- Are not fully covered by another agency are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
- Normally live in New Zealand and intend to stay here.
