Georgina (Georgie) Lavan BPsychSc. GradDipBehavSc (Psych) Georgie is a passionate Registered Psychologist with AHPRA, who pursues the best therapeutic outcomes for clients through continued professional development. She prides herself on being compassionate and creative, to provide an excellent experience for clients of various presentations. Georgie gained her qualifications from the University of New England and the Queensland University of Technology. Georgie’s first experience in mental health began when she became a volunteer telephone counsellor for Lifeline in 2011. Over the past eight years, Georgina has gained a vast experience working with both individual and groups. Georgie has experience in the following areas:

Throughout her experience as a psychologist, Georgie has gained a vast knowledge of working with different presentations and many therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Georgie continues to strive to gain knowledge through professional development – her most recent interests include Gottman Therapy for couples and Positive Psychology, where she has begun studying the work of Martin Seligman through the University of Pennsylvania. Georgina is looking forward to working with clients who are wanting to improve their relationships with themselves and others and move towards living more fulfilling lives.
